We have streamlined and updated our membership categories to create a more inclusive, equitable, and accessible community. ILCA membership is open to all who provide skilled lactation care or advocate for breastfeeding families, including breastfeeding peer supporters, lactation students, active medical professionals, lactation consultants (IBCLCs), retired professionals, public health advocates, physicians, midwives, nurses, dietitians, Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and academics.

Core Membership Categories

• ILCA Advocate (Premium Support): By becoming an ILCA Advocate, a portion of your membership dues directly funds ILCA’s vital, unique advocacy work on a global scale, driving transformative change in world health through skilled lactation care
• Regular Members: For active, practicing lactation consultants and healthcare professionals.
• Aspiring Members: A category designed for those pursuing IBCLC certification, offering a 40% rate reduction off regular pricing to support you from day one of your professional journey.
• Senior Members: A category honoring professionals who have retired and reached the age of 65, featuring a 50% discount off regular pricing so you can stay connected to the ILCA ecosystem and mentor the next generation.

Global Equity Pricing (Tiers 1–4)

To ensure professional backing is affordable for everyone, we have restructured our pricing models for Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 regions. Members in these developing economies receive price reductions tailored to local economic realities. When combined with our Aspiring and Senior discounts, global entry into ILCA is now more accessible than ever.
